Caged, the first book in the series had left me wanting more and the second book delivers brilliantly. On the run after killing Null, Eden and Linux find themselves in unknown world – green, beautiful and savage. Hungry and looking for shelter they stumble upon a secret human colony. The most captivating factors in the book are the characters. I love how Eden evolves, changes and struggles with what has been done to her. What she has become. She doesn’t know the extent of her abilities and discovers them slowly. Linux on the other hand becomes bold, takes charge and most of all the chemistry between these two characters is amazing!
The new characters are quiet interesting and it takes a lot of talent to develop them so beautifully. Poppy is a lovely understanding medic who is invaluable due to her talents. Echo is the geek and Kit is the muscle and both are adorable in their own ways.
The second thing I thought was great the way the author describes the tech. It’s novel, gripping and has been described so well. The writer gives you enough details (but doesn’t bore u to death) and leaves the rest to your imagination. I especially like the way the idyllic interpret emotions.
The third thing is the plot. It’s so realistic. The world setting, the descriptions, and the environment. In a world that is lost and dominated by machine everyone is expendable. Even a powerful idyllic. Food and resources are scarce and people do anything to survive. And some lives are preferred over others.
All through the book you find yourself on the edge wanting to know what would happen next. You root for the characters, and just when you think you know how it would end, you find out you were wrong!
I absolutely loved this book!
